Because of their habit of growth, usually coming into leaf or flower before late October, these bulbs MUST be despatched early. These bulbs must be dispatched in late August/mid September and so cannot be added to orders from any other part of the catalogue.

BULBS FOR INDOORS

  PREPARED HYACINTHS

To flower in time for Christmas, these bulbs must be planted by 21st September. However, flowering dates cannot be guaranteed as they depend upon cultural conditions. They must be given an adequate period of cold for root formation.

AUTUMN FLOWERING BULBS

COLCHICUM (Meadow Saffron) -  all now flowered
The 6" tall showy naked flowers which appear in late September and October are long lived and easy to grow in any rich, well-drained soil. Easy in pots. Their luxuriant foliage appears in the spring. Excellent among shrubs.

An easy dwarf species for a sunny position. Small, star shaped flowers of deep violet, heavily chequered. The narrow, crinkled leaves are almost prostrate.

  Colchicum Nancy Lindsay COLCHICUM NANCY LINDSAY (pannonicum). AGM
A rare Colchicum from Rumania. Bright violet-mauve flowers with a central white line on dark stems. Delightful and easy. One of the earliest to flower.

CROCUS (Autumn Flowering) 
Many people are surprised to see Crocus in flower from September to December. However, these autumn-flowering Crocus
are easily grown in any garden soil, including chalk.
         
CROCUS GOULIMYI
Slender. soft lilac flowers perched gracefully on long stems. Very beautiful. For a dry, sunny position or makes beautiful pot plant.
