Summer catalogue plant list including bulbs to flower in the  autumn
(From Section 1 of the Autumn Catalogue. Plants are dispatched in Aug-Sept)

Because of their habit of growth, usually coming into leaf or flower before late October, these bulbs MUST be dispatched early. In order that they reach you in time for planting, please use a separate order form for each section of this catalogue, clearly marking bulbs from Section 1, August dispatch. Please note that bulbs from Section 1 cannot be sent with items from Section 2.

BULBS FOR INDOORS


PREPARED HYACINTHS

To flower in time for Christmas, these bulbs must be planted by 21st September. However, flowering dates cannot be guaranteed as they depend upon cultural conditions. They must be given an adequate period of cold for root formation.

NARCISSUS PAPERWHITE
Masses of pure white, heavily scented flowers. Plant bulbs on surface of soil and keep pot on a cool windowsill. Flowering date depends upon planting time.

COLCHICUM (Meadow Saffron)

The 6" tall showy naked flowers which appear in late September and October are long lived and easy to grow in any rich, well-drained soil. Easy in pots. Their luxuriant foliage appears in the spring. Excellent among shrubs.
